Web presence organization woes
When I first started trying to get off the Big Tech sites I was overwhelmed with the idea of having to go back to doing it all on my own (and I wasn't exactly enormously successful at managing my own website even when I did that, twenty years ago!). But after a few years of research I've found so many tools I'm kind of overwhelmed with my options!
So far I have:
- Two Mastadon accounts, one for Esperanto
- A WordPress blog, which I have enjoyed for sharing about my kids but am unsure about having their pictures on the Internet
- This blog, with a feature-set I really like!
- A very private Discord, which helps with organization
- Email associated with my real name domain
- An email address associated with sameoldstory.co
And now I've been learning about all these IndieWeb features, which sound super near, and easy to implement into both the WordPress and this blog, but do I need both??
I guess it's not that overwhelming when I write it out like this!
I also have various self-hosted projects I'd like to get going.
All of this and I don't want to live online, either! I have other hobbies I want to do, and my kids to take care of too obviously. I work 730 to 1730 most workdays, too.
Still, I suppose the first decisions I'm facing are whether to make this my only blog. No rush on that, though.
